I do not have a regular podcast, but I have played around with Audacity and created audio for ipods in my classroom. The Learning in Hand Blog and Podcast have been instrumental in teaching me how to use ipods in my classroom. I am considering creating podcasts for many of my lessons and putting the podcasts in iTunes or on the classroom ipods. I am lucky to have a class set. I read a blog post at the Learning in Hand Blog that discusses how student test scores actually improve when students listen to podcasts as opposed to lectures. I have noticed that students in my class will listen intently when I give them an ipod lecture, and they do a good job of taking notes. It is hard to ignore my voice when it is broadcast directly in your ear through headphones. I have not been as diligent as I need to be in producing audio lessons for my classroom, but after reading the blog post regarding student test scores and considering my own observations, I realize that I need to utilize podcast lectures more often in my classroom.
