Many videos have been created to demonstrate the need for a new educational paradigm in the 21st Century.  I have picked my favorite ten videos to share and embedded them below.  I am sure I have left out videos that I should have included, so please leave me a comment and post a URL for any videos that should be added to this list.

1. A Vision of Students Today created by Kansas State University professor Mike Wesch and his students to provide a picture of college students in the 21st Century.

2. I am including a second video created by Kansas State University Mike Wesch.  Not only is this video an incredible visual presentation and fun to watch, it provides insight into Web 2.0 possibilities and considerations.

Web 2.0 the Machine is Us/ing Us

3. Roosevelt High School students in Minneapolis, Minn are using social media tools in the classroom.

Twitter in the Classroom?

4. Goomoodleikiog provides directions for how to use Web 2.0 in the classroom.

5. Mr. Winkle Wakes a humorous video about how education has or rather hasn’t changed over the past 100 years.

6. Pay Attention Final Cut is about digital learners.

7. Sir Ken Robinson’s presentation on TedTalks called Do Schools Kill Creativity? is funny and true.

8. If Roadies Ran the World? is an amusing commercial that could be used to generate a discussion on paradigm shifts in the 21st Century.

9. Flutter: The New Twitter a parody of Twitter.  Very funny video that pokes fun at digital connectivity.

10. Did You Know? Also known as Shift Happens created by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod.

If you are interested, I also have a blog post on the Top Ten YouTube Videos in the Classroom.

Directions for using Zamzar to burn a video to a CD.

I have also posted my list at Top Ten Top Ten which is a great website of Top Ten Lists.

This is great! I was just thinking after a conference last week that I should do this – now don’t need to :P

I would also recommend ‘Learning to change: Changing to learn’

    Ms. Mcgraw,
Thanks for sharing Learning to Change: Changing to Learn. I have watched this one, can’t believe I forgot it! I appreciate it. I hope others will post URLs as well so that a healthy list can be created.
    Thanks again for sharing.

Hey Tech Guru! Here’s that Kaplan commercial video you emailed me about!

I also recommend Taylor Mali’s “Speak with Conviction” not for its technology slant but for its excellent message:

    Julie,
Thank you for contributing to my list. You may consider me a tech guru, but you are the best English teacher on our planet, so that is definitely a compliment coming from you! Did you watch the very funny Flutter video? Check it out if you haven’t.
